Transit Media
Transit media is developed from the use of full sized SLA model of the component. We ensure that all ergonomic and stacked storage issues are satisfied, with the optimum protection considered leading to our recommendations for material type and poke-yoke design.
Client Brief
Transit media to hold a minimum of five fuel pumps per tray unit load, with the same component availability (orientation) at each level. This is due to limited trackside space and the associated ergonomics at the point of fitment.
Solution
Normally, this type of product would be contained in half size trays (1105 x 452mm), but this would not conform to the manual handling regulations, when combined with the component weight.
We developed a quarter size tray with a density of five components, with none-rotational stacking by the introduction of assembled seating support blocks. Full poke-yoke consideration is an integral part of the tray design, with directional arrows embossed into the moulding, and yellow strip permanent marking.
